It came from Rob Francis

Rob Francis’s story “Beneath the Sea of Glass” was published in Metaphorosis on Friday, 13 October 2017. Metaphorosis

I’ve always loved adventure fantasy since childhood, but as I got older wondered where all those stories about people seeking treasure to improve their lot in life had gone. So I created Leos and Agris to go find some! They always seem to be in debt and never really get any closer to paying the bailiffs, unfortunately, but are perhaps making the world a slightly better place. For this particular outing, I’d been teaching about the Cretaceous–Paleogene mass extinction event (the one that finished off the large dinosaurs) and also reading about the natural formation of glass. The image of a sea of glass, hiding the remains of an ancient civilisation, came along shortly after; and I knew where Leos and Agris were headed to next.
