Christine Lucas’s story “Medusa Rising” was published in Metaphorosis on Friday, 13 May 2022. 
“Medusa Rising” is inspired by H.P.Lovecraft’s story “Medusa’s Coil”, mostly known for its racist ending. The premise was stuck in my head when, back in 2019, the legal proceedings against the Greek Neo-Nazi Party Golden Dawn began. Then it became clear in my head who the evil guys were, and who Medusa had to represent. Greek Grandmothers have stood against fascists for a long time (and still do). The first draft of the story flowed onto the screen within a single day, because it’s a theme very dear to my heart.
