Q: Duckbilled platypus – result of divine distraction, or alternate universe crossover?
A: I can only hope for an alternative reality where the platypus is perfectly mundane; an entire ecosystem of egg-laying, bird-part-having, venomous mammals, where all the no doubt equally strange and venomous human-analogues are baffled by the humble Australian woodchuck or whatever we were supposed to get. I’d like to trade books and movies with that alternate dimension.
