Following the lead of Fred Coppersmith at Kaleidotrope, we asked ChatGPT to write a 500 word story for Metaphorosis. It may not have understood the assignment, but it didn’t do too badly. And it did suggest that Metaphorosis is “[A] world beyond this one. … A world where the impossible is possible, and the unimaginable is real. … A world of pure imagination and boundless creativity.” with “incredible creatures and landscapes stretched out as far as the eye could see”, and that our contributors and readers possess “a vivid imagination, a passion for the creative arts, and a willingness to explore the unknown.”
As the sun set on the distant horizon, Emily made her way down the deserted streets of the city. She had always loved the quiet calm of the evenings, when the hustle and bustle of the day had subsided and the only sounds were the gentle rustling of the leaves in the trees and the occasional distant hum of a vehicle.
But tonight, something felt different. The air was charged with a strange electricity, and Emily couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched. She quickened her pace, her heart pounding in her chest.
