Q: How do pets/children/significant others help/hinder your process?
A: Not having a partner, children or pets frees up time for writing, although I often give in to the urge to take a break and go to the park where I can watch other people’s dogs run around happily. My best friend, who is a big fan of the Metaphorosis podcast, is always happy to read my stories and discuss them in detail. However, as he knows me so well, he often predicts plot twists or understands what I mean even when I’ve explained it badly. I’m in a couple of writing groups so I can get a range of feedback.
